How are Services different from Products?

Products are things — you buy a thing, it ships or you pick it up. Services are time and expertise — you book someone to do work for you. Both can support a cause. We separate them because they list and book differently.

Q. Does ATX Impact handle payments?

Not yet for Services. Right now we connect you to the provider — you contract and pay them directly. Native booking and payment is on our roadmap, including built-in cause allocation through the marketplace.

Q. Can a service include a cause allocation?

Yes — providers can publish a default cause allocation percentage. Example: "10% of every booking goes to the Austin Mutual Aid Fund." That commitment is shown on the service listing.

Q. Can my organization list services?

Yes. Both individuals (linked to a People profile) and organizations (linked to an Organization profile) can publish services. Useful for nonprofits offering consulting, B-corps offering their team's time, or cooperatives listing member services.

Q. Are there sliding-scale or pro-bono listings?

Yes — those are categories of their own, and we encourage providers who offer reduced-rate or volunteer work for community causes to tag accordingly.
