Have a question we missed?
ATX Impact is the shared infrastructure for Austin's community work.
Three things live here:
A directory of the causes, organizations, events, people, products, services, resources, and stories that make up Austin's impact ecosystem — organized across twelve focus areas.
A coordination layer that lets focus-area councils, working groups, and members find each other and ship real work together.
A funding layer that routes money directly to causes through donations and a cause-allocating marketplace. We didn't invent Austin's impact work. We built the place where it can find itself.
No. Most browsing is public — every cause, organization, event, story, and resource is readable without an account. You can also subscribe to the newsletter and RSVP to most events as a guest.Membership unlocks publishing (your own causes, events, resources, stories, profile), direct messaging, council voting once your account is 30 days old, and selling in the marketplace when it launches.
Membership is free in year one for everyone. After that, a sliding scale starts at $5/month with a free tier for income-restricted members. The platform sustains itself through voluntary Sustaining Member contributions, marketplace fees (12% standard / 8% council-vetted / 0% on donations), focus-area partner sponsorships, and grants — not extractive ads, not data sales.
Five things, in order:
Subscribe to the weekly newsletter — two minutes, Wednesdays.
RSVP to one event in your neighborhood this week.
Follow three causes that match what you care about.
Become a member — free, two minutes.
Show up.
The full short-path lives on the Start Here page.
Have a question we missed?
Any organized effort to make Austin better — nonprofits, mutual aid groups, neighborhood projects, community campaigns, accelerators. If real people are doing the work, it belongs here.
Our network does. Featured causes are surfaced by community editors and the ATX Impact team based on activity, momentum, and what the community is rallying behind that month.

Member dashboard → Share an Event. Five-minute form. Free for all member events. The full flow lives on the Share an Event page.Events publish within 4 business hours after a quick review, cross-post to any tagged causes and organizations, and appear in the weekly digest for members whose focus areas match.
Yes. Post once, set the recurrence pattern (weekly, biweekly, monthly, custom), and we handle the rest. You can edit individual instances or the whole series.
Only with the host's explicit permission. Tag them when you post and they'll get a notification to confirm. Without confirmation, the event won't publish.
Edit the event from your dashboard. Anyone who RSVP'd gets notified within minutes. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the event, the system flags it for you to send a personal note to RSVPs — small thing, but it matters.
We remove events that violate the guidelines — proselytizing, political endorsements of candidates, MLM recruitment, or anything misleading about who's hosting. If you think the removal was a mistake, email hello@atximpact.net with the event title and we'll review within two business days.
Free events stay free. Ticketed events run through the marketplace fee structure when ticketing happens on-platform (Phase 4): 12% standard, 8% council-vetted, with a minimum 10% routed to a cause of the organizer's choice. Events that ticket through Eventbrite, Luma, or anywhere else don't owe us anything.
