Sponsor

A project's sponsor is the individual (or group of individuals) responsible for the project. The sponsor kickstarts the project, secures funding for it, and champions it through the organization. From the high-level requirements to specific scope issues, the sponsor is usually the ultimate authority in guiding the project.
